How to Set Up Digital Signage on Any TV (Step by Step)
Setting up digital signage used to mean media players, cabling and an IT visit. It doesn't anymore. Here's how to get a screen live in minutes with the TV you already own.
Step 1 — Get a screen and a player
Use any TV. To turn it into a smart display, add a cheap Android TV box or HDMI stick (or use a built-in Android TV). You can also run the player in a web browser on any device.
Step 2 — Create your content
Sign up for SignageX (free for 90 days). Upload images and videos, then build a playlist — the sequence of items your screen will loop. Want more than a full-screen loop? Use the layout editor to split the screen into zones: a main video, a sidebar image and a scrolling ticker, for example.
Step 3 — Schedule it (optional)
Assign playlists to times of day or days of the week. Show a breakfast menu in the morning and a dinner menu at night, automatically — no one needs to touch the screen.
Step 4 — Pair the screen
Open the SignageX app on the TV. It shows a six-character pairing code. In your dashboard, choose 'Pair a screen', type the code, and give the screen a name. That's it — your content appears immediately.
Step 5 — Manage from anywhere
From now on, every change you make in the cloud pushes to the screen within seconds. Add screens, group them by location, and manage the whole network from your phone or laptop. If the internet drops, the player keeps looping from its cache and re-syncs when it's back.
That's the whole setup
No installer, no IP address, no technician — just a code. Create your free account and pair your first screen today.
